I've never used another practice amp so I have nothing to compare it to, but I have ears and have heard before, and I think it sounds pretty great. Way louder than I was expecting. It's great to have something I can just plug in and turn on, and I set the presets with the app so I don't really need the phone either. I was using a computer before for amp modeling, and that creates too many opportunities for getting distracted. The android add is good, but a little confusing regarding assigning the presets. I figured it out but it was a little hard to find the right place to do that. Maybe it will change in time but it's been around for a while I believe. I am planning to test this on an ipad too, especially to use the other practice/learn features, where video and tabs are visible at the same time. It's kind of cluttered on the phone, and the UI/UX is not wonderful. I had an issue with updating the firmware, contacted Positive Grid support, who responded swiftly, but I figured it out myself before they responded - disconnected other usb MIDI devices and connected the Spark directly to the computer instead of the USB hub (not sure which fixed it, did both at the same time) I look forward to many more hours of usage, and it's a pretty handy bluetooth speaker too so that's a bonus too.
