The Calling is a rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 1996 by Alex Band and Aaron Kamin. They gained major recognition with their 2001 hit "Wherever You Will Go," which spent 23 weeks at number one on the Adult Top 40 and was later named Billboard's top Adult Pop Song of the 2000s. Their debut album Camino Palmero was a commercial success, followed by the 2004 album Two, which featured the single "Our Lives," highlighted at the 2004 Summer Olympics closing ceremony and the 78th Academy Awards. After disbanding in 2005, The Calling reunited in 2016 with Alex Band as the only original member.
