Kate Victoria Tunstall, known as KT Tunstall, is a Scottish singer-songwriter and musician born in 1975. She rose to prominence in 2004 after a live solo performance of "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" on Later with Jools Holland. Her debut album, Eye to the Telescope, was inspired by her childhood in her father's physics lab and sold over five million copies worldwide. Major hits from her early career include "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" and "Suddenly I See," the latter notably used in Hillary Clinton's 2008 campaign. Over her career, Tunstall has released several acclaimed albums, including Drastic Fantastic, Tiger Suit, and a trilogy of albums: Kin, Wax, and Nut. She is also recognized for collaborations, such as the 2023 album Face to Face with Suzi Quatro.
