Stone Temple Pilots

Stone Temple Pilots

Stone Temple Pilots is an American rock band formed in San Diego in 1989. The original lineup featured Scott Weiland on vocals, brothers Dean and Robert DeLeo on guitar and bass, and Eric Kretz on drums. They broke through with their debut album Core in 1992, becoming one of the top bands of the 1990s and selling over 40 million albums worldwide. Known for hits like Plush, Interstate Love Song, and Vasoline, their music evolved beyond grunge, incorporating elements of psychedelic and classic rock. After a breakup in 2003 and a successful reunion in 2008, the band underwent several lineup changes following Weiland's departure and later passing. Linkin Park's Chester Bennington fronted the band from 2013 to 2015. In 2017, Jeff Gutt became the new lead singer. Stone Temple Pilots’ enduring popularity stems from their powerful songwriting, distinct sound, and influence on alternative rock.
