Alexander Paul Coe, born September 4, 1969, professionally known as Sasha, is a Welsh DJ and record producer recognized for his influential role in electronic music. Rising to prominence in the late 1980s with acid house, he gained international fame both as a solo artist and through his collaboration with John Digweed, especially as the duo Sasha and John Digweed. Their innovative mix albums and international tours set new standards in the genre. Sasha was named World Number One DJ by DJ Magazine in 2000 and has received multiple awards, including four International Dance Music Awards and four DJ Awards. He is also a Grammy Award nominee. Known for blending various electronic styles in his productions and remixes, he has worked with artists like Madonna, Moby, the Chemical Brothers, and Hot Chip. His original albums include The Qat Collection, Airdrawndagger, and Scene Delete. Sasha has contributed to the evolution of DJ technology by incorporating live audio engineering into his performances and by mentoring emerging talent such as BT and James Zabiela. In 2007, he launched the emFire label, providing an exclusive platform for his new material.
