Poison
Poison is an American rock band formed in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania in 1983. The classic lineup features Bret Michaels as lead singer and rhythm guitarist, Rikki Rockett on drums, Bobby Dall on bass, and C.C. DeVille on lead guitar. Achieving major commercial success in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Poison sold over 40 million records worldwide and became known for energetic glam metal hits.
Their signature song, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and they produced a string of other top 40 tracks including "Talk Dirty to Me," "Nothin' But a Good Time," and "Unskinny Bop." Albums like Look What the Cat Dragged In, Open Up and Say Ahh, and Flesh and Blood each went multi-platinum and solidified their place in rock music. Despite lineup changes and challenges during the grunge era, Poison continued to record, tour, and maintain a loyal fanbase.
The band has released seven studio albums and numerous hit singles, and was ranked number one on VH1's list of Top Hair Bands of the 1980s. Poison remains a staple of the era's rock sound, known for high-energy shows and enduring influence on glam metal.
