Pentagram is a pioneering American heavy metal band from Alexandria, Virginia, often recognized as one of the "big four of doom metal" alongside Candlemass, Saint Vitus, and Trouble. Formed in the 1970s, their sound has frequently drawn comparisons to Black Sabbath. Despite being deeply rooted in the underground scene for years, Pentagram released their debut album, "Relentless," in 1985 with Bobby Liebling as the consistent founding member. The band has since put out several more albums and continues to be active, with a current lineup featuring Liebling, Tony Reed on guitar, Scooter Haslip on bass, and Henry Vasquez on drums. Liebling is known for his charismatic presence, often likened to a US version of Ozzy Osbourne. Although often labeled as doom metal, the band prefers to be described as heavy hard rock.
