Miklós Rózsa was a Hungarian-American composer renowned for his film scores and concert works. After studying in Germany, he built his early career in France and the United Kingdom before settling in the United States in 1940. Rózsa gained international attention with scores for films such as The Four Feathers and The Thief of Bagdad, and went on to compose nearly one hundred film scores, including for Spellbound, A Double Life, and Ben-Hur, winning three Academy Awards. Alongside his Hollywood success, Rózsa remained dedicated to absolute music, with his concert pieces performed by leading artists of his time.
