Lucinda Williams, born on January 26, 1953, is an acclaimed American singer-songwriter and guitarist known for her powerful blend of country, blues, rock, and Americana. Early in her career, she recorded Ramblin on My Mind and Happy Woman Blues, both praised by critics but under the public radar. Her breakthrough came with the 1988 self-titled album, featuring Passionate Kisses, which later won her a Grammy for Best Country Song. Williams gained wider recognition with 1998's Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, an album that received universal acclaim, went Gold, and earned her another Grammy.
