Golden Earring is a Dutch rock band formed in 1961 in The Hague. Originally known as the Tornados, they rose to international fame with classic hits like Radar Love, Twilight Zone, and When the Lady Smiles. Over their six-decade career, they scored nearly 30 top-ten singles in the Netherlands and released 25 studio albums. The group found its definitive lineup in 1970 with Rinus Gerritsen, George Kooymans, Barry Hay, and Cesar Zuiderwijk, remaining together until 2021 when the band disbanded following Kooymans' ALS diagnosis. Kooymans passed away in 2025, leaving Gerritsen as the only original member. In 2026, Golden Earring is set to play a series of farewell concerts at Rotterdam Ahoy.
