Fall Out Boy is an American rock band formed in 2001 in Wilmette, Illinois, near Chicago. The lineup features Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman, and Andy Hurley. The group started as a pop-punk project out of Chicago’s hardcore scene and quickly built a dedicated following with their 2003 debut album, Take This to Your Grave.
Their 2005 breakthrough album, From Under the Cork Tree, launched them to mainstream success thanks to hit singles like Sugar, We're Goin Down and Dance, Dance. Fall Out Boy became known for catchy hooks and energetic performances, earning a Grammy nomination and multi-platinum status.
The band's sound evolved with albums like Infinity on High and Save Rock and Roll, both debuting at number one on the Billboard 200. They are known for blending punk, pop, and alternative influences across hit singles such as This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race, Centuries, and Uma Thurman. After a brief hiatus, Fall Out Boy returned with more chart-topping albums and continued to tour internationally.
Their latest album, So Much for Stardust, was released in March 2023, further showcasing their ability to reinvent themselves while maintaining a loyal fan base. Fall Out Boy remains one of the most influential acts in modern rock and pop-punk.
