NYXL Nickel Wound Single String for Electric Guitar

The D'Addario NYNW064 is a single replacement string from the NYXL Nickel Wound series, designed specifically for electric guitar. At .064" gauge, this string is built for players who need a heavy low-end replacement or want to assemble a custom gauge set without buying a full pack. The construction pairs a high-carbon steel core with a reformulated nickel-plated steel wrap wire, delivering the bright, punchy character NYXL strings are known for. Compared to standard factory strings, NYXL offers improved tuning stability and stronger break resistance, making it a reliable upgrade for gigging musicians. The NYNW064 is the right choice for electric guitar players who need a single heavy-gauge replacement string. Made in the USA at D'Addario's New York production facility.

Who It's For

At .064" gauge, this string works well for players who prefer thicker strings for heavier riffing, lower tunings, or genres like hard rock and metal where string tension and growl matter. Round-wound nickel construction gives a bright, cutting tone that sits well in a mix, while the high-carbon steel core offers the break resistance NYXL is known for. The ball-end design makes it a quick swap on any standard electric guitar bridge without special tools. This single string is also ideal for luthiers, techs, and players who like to mix gauges across a set without buying a full replacement pack.
