Attack 3 is the next evolution of one of Waldorf Music's most iconic and longest-running software instruments. Each kit holds 24 individual sounds, and sounds 12 to 24 can be played polyphonically as pitched instruments via MIDI channels. While its sampling capabilities have grown, Attack 3 stays focused on synthesis, so every drum sound can be shaped in real time and fully automated in your DAW.

Deep Sound Design Per Sound

Every sound offers two oscillators with accurate phase control and sample playback including user samples, velocity mapping, round-robin playback and flexible start positions. A Crack module sharpens transients, while the filter covers 12 and 24 dB high-pass, low-pass, band-pass, shelf, bell and notch modes, plus positive and negative comb filters and Redux sample-rate reduction. Drive types include Clip, Transistor, Diode, Crunch, Pickup and Overdrive, and two envelopes with ADSR and multi-stage ADBDSR modes join two LFOs with delay, fade and tempo sync.

Mixing and Workflow

Each sound has its own EQ, compressor and a selectable effect from Chorus, Delay, Reverb, Drive, Phaser or Flanger. Six stereo output busses each add a compressor, EQ and three further effect slots for processing the whole kit. A resizable interface, dedicated browsers for kits and sounds, global tuning and MIDI Learn with minimum and maximum parameter ranges keep the workflow fast.
