Rachel Agatha Keen, professionally known as Raye, is a British singer-songwriter born in 1997. She first gained attention with a series of dance singles and EPs after signing with Polydor Records. Raye later made headlines by leaving the label over creative differences and went on to release her debut album, My 21st Century Blues, independently in 2023. The album's hit single Escapism reached number one on the UK charts and broke into the US Billboard Hot 100. Raye made history at the Brit Awards 2024 by winning six awards, including British Artist of the Year, and was named to both the BBC 100 Women and Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe lists. She also received three Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist. Known for her genre-blending style rooted in jazz, R&B, pop, and soul, Raye’s music often addresses personal and social issues. Alongside her solo work, she has written songs for prominent artists like Beyoncé, Charli XCX, John Legend, and Little Mix.
